GALAXY OF FRIENDS and HUMANE SACRIFICE Ts

Screen of a T-shirt that says GALAXY OF FRIENDS

This is a close recreation of a t-shirt my wife found for me in a thrift store.  It could be a reference to the Quakers, who call themselves "The Society of Friends."  If you click that image it will take you to a place to buy it.

Also, here is a t-shirt inspired of the APOCALYPTO-related typo mentioned here.

(If you’re not seeing the first image, it says "GALAXY OF FRIENDS" in big blue sans-serif lettering, on a yellow background, with purple stars and a crescent moon.)

“Smart Diary”

[This entry is rated PG-13!]

I’m looking for personal journal software. Manually dating and ordering entries, and then compiling them into one big file - it’s all too tedious. I want something that is encrypted, password-protected, simple and not fussy-mussy, and not web-formatted-or-based. If it’s web based, you can count on the chances of nefarious forces destroying your life to double. Anyway, I Google “personal diary software” and find this page. For starters, via the many typos and misspellings, you will see proof of the claim in the first sentence describing the software. Maybe I should withhold that criticism for the Engrish; nevertheless..

Nintendo Harmonies (Goonies II) with Pilcrow

Music I wrote, Video Games Comments Off

One day a few years ago, my brother and I burst into invented overlay melodies for this Nintendo music, as we drove in my car - I think this was on or near Halloween (2003?). But to me, this music is just downright.. I dunno. Christmasy.

[note: In time I’ll update this to play it in the page with a little music player (flash), but it’s at a mHz that makes it freak out right now]

King’s Quest funny clips

Video Games, blather Comments Off

The Adventure Game! .. An old one. ..King’s Quest.. um.. I don’t remember which one.. at some point I was playing through this game with my wife, and laughing at some of the very funny (unintentionally so?) sound bytes. Here are captures I made of those sounds.

Leave my harp alone! ..

Ah, life giving water, nectar of the Gods! ..

Yonder lies the crystal cave! ..

Ech, a dead fish! Hmm..

Mangled in Translation

[I left this text somewhere at a page that I wanted to delete, but could only alter.]

Ich habe diese Seite auf eine andere Position für einfacheren Gebrauch verschoben; er wurde nicht mehr in Cyberspace benötigt.

Original English was: "I have moved this page to another location for easier use; it was no longer needed in cyberspace." Babelfish retranslates the above English-to-German back into English thusly:

I shifted this side on another position for simpler use; it was not needed no more in Cyberspace.

Great typo, Super and Silly names

1.

Writes an IMDB user in reference to APOCALYPTO, Mel Gibson’s new film about a young man fleeing his appointment for human sacrifice in the crumbling Mayan empire:

HUMANE SACRIFICE IS A LIE !

I haven’t read the message, but that could be played off:

There is nothing humane about human sacrifice!  That is a lie!  It is inhumane!  They sacrificed humans!  Inhumanely!

This is an excerpt from an Episode of South Park that has a bit of fun with Mormonism.

So, this movie looks good enough to support with my dollars - and yes, I am saying that I want to support it specifically for its content and, like I said, because it looks artful enough to support.

[Update: I provide my response to this film after going to see it, following these comments.  Also, the film critic Eric D. Snider responded to these comments which I posted in a forum, and I think his comments are correct, and I also quote them after my own additional comments.]
